Wade Knox
Children's Advocacy Center

Who We Are

Wade Knox Children's Advocacy Center is a 501(c) 3 organization that serves children ages 3 to 18. It serves children and families residing in Lonoke, Prairie, Monroe, and Western Phillips counties.

Unfortunately, many do not believe that child abuse exists in these rural counties. However, this is not the case. Since the opening of the Wade Knox Children’s Advocacy Center in 2005, there have been over 4,000 reported allegations of child abuse in these Arkansas counties. These reports include abuse in various forms such as: physical abuse, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, or being a witness to a crime. Sadly, it is very common for cases of abuse to never be reported at all.

Our Mission

Your paragraph text (8)_edited.png

A Children’s Advocacy Center is a child focused, facility based program in which representatives from many different disciplines- Law enforcement, child protection, prosecution, mental health, medical and victim’s advocacy- work together, conducting joint forensic interviews and making team decisions about the investigation, treatment, management, and prosecution of child abuse cases.

The Wade Knox Story

Wade Knox was a young boy who experienced unimaginable trauma at the hands of someone he and his family trusted. Wade's mother, Karen Knox, set out to ensure that her community would always be equipped with the necessary tools to help other children and families who experience the unimaginable effects of trauma.
